He attended high school at Cooley High School and finished college at University of Detroit Mercy. He played basketball in college before he made his debut in NBA. He started playing professionally in 2003 when he was chosen by the Seattle Supersonics during the 2003 NBA Draft. Green was a 41st overall pick in round two of the said draft. After spending a few seasons with the Supersonics, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers via trade for Paccelis Morlende.
