Also working as a commentator for telecasts of New York Knicks games, Frazier was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 1945. He chose to pursue his college education at Southern Illinois University. He became one of the premier collegiate basketball players in the country and was also named a Division II All-American in the years 1964 and 1965. Frazier had successfully led SIU to the NCAA Division II Tournament. He was drafted by the New York Knicks and in 1968 Frazier was able to join the NBA All-Rookie Team.
