He attended his high school days at Christian Brothers in Sacramento, California. His Major League debut started on April 15, 1947. Signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was a journey man all through out his 10 year career in the MLB. He even played with the St. Louis Cardinals , teamed up with the Cincinnati Reds, joined the campaign for the quest of a World Series Championship of the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League, he even went to Cleveland Indians and the Baltimore Orioles in the American League. He became an All-Star in 1951. After his legendary 10 seasons in Baseball his statistics are tallied as: Batting average of .272, total Home runs of 127, and RBI of 539.
