He played for the Cardinals from 1940 - 1957, Giants from 1946 - 1949, Reds from 1949 - 1950, Braves from 1950 - 1952, Braves in 1953, Pirates in 1954 and Cubs from 1954 - 1955. Over 18 seasons, he played 1473 games, hit 173 home runs, drove in 573 runs, and stole 18 bases. Born on January 8, 1915 in Atherton, MO, Cooper stood 6' 3 and weighed 210 lb. He attended Chrisman (Independence, MO) high school. His debut was on September 25, 1940 and he played his final game on September 20, 1957. Over his career, Cooper made $15,000.
