Tyrone Wheatley is a retired American professional football player who hails from Inkster, Michigan and is currently a running backs coach at Syracuse University . Wheatley was a successful athlete during both his high school and college years. He graduated from Hamilton J. Robichaud High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and took his college education at the University of Michigan. He began his career in pro football when he was drafted in the 1995 NFL Draft by the New York Giants of the National Football League in the first round of the draft. The drafting of Wheatley by the Giants had been very controversial, as the Giants intention during the draft was to pick either Korey Stringer or Rashaan Salaam. Wheatley was used scarcely and started only eight games in his entire four seasons with the Giants. Then during the rookie season training camp, he had the misfortune of pulling a hamstring while running sprints on the first day Wheatley had his first 100-yard game on October 12, 1997 with a hundred and two yards on twenty two carries in their match against the Arizona Cardinals in a 27–13 victory. And after the 1998 season Wheatley was dealt to the Miami Dolphins. Wheatley was however, cut from the Miami Dolphins training camp roster making him available to the Raiders signing him on August 4, 1999. Unable to adequately rehabilitate his hamstring, Wheatley retired from the NFL in 2005. To build a collection room is not as hard as it seem.
