Steven Andrew Rucchin is a professional ice hockey player from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. He is a centre and shoots left and spent his high school playing days at the Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School. He then played for the University of Western Ontario for his collegiate career. Rucchin was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as the 2nd overall in the 1994 National Hockey League Supplemental Draft. He first played with the San Diego Gulls of the IHL and earned a permanent plays in the Anaheim roster because of his amazing play. He helped the Ducks reach the 2003 Stanley Cup in a game against the Detroit Red Wings but unfortunately lost the title to the New Jersey Devils . In 2005, he was traded off to the New York Rangers where he was immediately named alternate captain. To date, his numbers stand at 171 goals, 318 assists, and 489 points in 735 regular season- games played. One notable feat he had was in the 1998 World Championship while he was playing for team Canada. He and his brother Larry faced each other when the latter was playing for team Italy.
