Ryan Paul Freel was born in March 8, 1976 at Jacksonville, Florida. Currently, he is already a retired baseball utility player. His positions include second base, third base, and all three outfield places. Freel spent time at the Tallahassee Community College and was chosen during the 1994 amateur entry draft by the team St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round. He decided not to sign up with them again; Instead by 1995, he joined the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2009 Freel decided to be part of a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers. In the same year while playing against the Baltimore Orioles, he was considered to be in the Disabled List after being injured as he was hit by a pickoff throw in the head. Recently, Freel signed with the independent Somerset Patriots in April 2010. On May 17, 2010, Freel publicly declared his official retirement.
