Ron Greschner is a retired defenseman for the National Hockey League. He played solely for the New York Rangers while he was in the NHL. Greschner played for the Rangers for a total of 16 seasons. He was born in Goodsoil, Saskatchewan. He was playing in the Western Hockey League in 1971 all the way to 1973. He entered both the Western Hockey League Amateur Draft and the National Hockey League Entry Draft in 1974. He was made the 34th overall pick by the Vancouver Blazers of the WHA Draft and the 32nd overall pick by New York Rangers in the NHL Draft. Greschner was assigned to play in the American Hockey League for the Providence Reds and was able to play in 7 games, make 5 goals and score 11 points. Greschner made his NFL debut in 1974 when he was finally called up by the New York Rangers. In 1976, he appeared in the most number of games. For that season, he was able to appear in 80 games, make 11 goals and come up with a total of 47 points. Another remarkable season in Greschner's career was in 1977 when he was able to make 24 goals and come up with a total of 72 points.
