Rogatien Vachon is a retired French-Canadian professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. He was born in Palmarolle, Quebec, Canada. Vachon played as goaltender for several teams in the National Hockey League; the Montreal Canadiens , Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins. Before Vachon entered the national leagues, he first played in the American Hokey League with the Quebec Aces. Vachon was listed at 5 ft. 8 in. and 160 lbs. He made his debut in the National Hockey League after joining Montreal Canadiens in 1965. During his stay with the Canadiens, Vachon together with Gump Worsley shared the 1968 Vezina Trophy. After playing for seven seasons with the Canadiens, Vachon was then dealt to the Los Angeles Kings , where Vachon made his greatest individual accomplishment, sources say. Vachon was chosen to the National Hockey League All Star Team twice in 1975 and in 1977. Vachon made great contributions to the Kings before joining two other teams in the league and ending his career with the Boston Bruins in 1982. After his retirement, Vachon served several executive positions with the Los Angeles Kings; one was serving as a general manager from 1984 to 1992.
