Rodney Peete is a retired professional football player who played for the University of Southern California during his college days and in the National Football League for a total of 16 seasons. Peete announced his retirement from playing football in the 2004 season and is now a sportscaster for Fox. Peete was born in Mesa, Arizona and went to Sahuaro High School in Tucson for three years. Peete played basketball and baseball on top of football in Tucson. During his senior year, Peete moved to Kansas and enrolled in Shawnee Mission South High School. He decided to go to USC for college. While in USC, Peete helped the team get to the Rose Bowl during the 1988 and the 1989 seasons. He came second to Barry Sanders for the Heisman Trophy but was awarded the Johnny Unitas Award. He was also named as an All-American during the 1988 season. During the 1989 NFL draft, Peete was selected by the Detroit Lions and went on to play for 16 seasons in the league. As a rookie, Peete would've started but had to miss a few games after spraining his knee. Peete also played for the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins, the Oakland Raiders and the Carolina Panthers. Starting a new NFL collection?
