Dubbed as the “Come Back Kid”, Robby Ginepri is a professional tennis player. He was born in Kennesaw, Georgia but is of Luxembourgish descent. He went to Joseph Wheeler High School and turned professional in 2001 after graduating high school. In 2005, Ginepri's career took off after he was able to reach the semifinals of the French Open, routing a number of famous players on his way there. He met Mariano Puerta during the first round and then David Ferrer in the second round. He also encountered Carlos Moya in the third round and then Marat Safin in the quarters. He lost to Roger Federer in the semis. By the end of that year, Ginepri finished 15th in the ATP Rankings. Ginepri was able to play against the renowned Pete Sampras in an exhibition match in Houston, Texas in 2006. That was the first game that Sampras took part of after his retirement. During that match, Ginepri won with a score of 6-3, 7-6. In 2008, Ginepri made his first appearance in the World Team Tennis league where he played for the Washington Kastles.
