American professional basketball player, Richard Jefferson is currently playing for the New Jersey Nets as a small forward. He was born in Los Angeles, California on June 21, 1980. He had played basketball while he was studying at the University of Arizona. Jefferson was then drafted by the Houston Rockets as the 13th overall pick during the NBA Draft in 2001. He was traded to New Jersey together with Jason Collins and Brandon Armstrong for Eddie Griffin.
