Noel Picard is a former professional ice hockey player who hails from Montreal, Quebec. Born on the Christmas morning of 1938, he started playing hockey as a young child and eventually acquired skills needed for professional hockey playing. He began hid professional career at the age of 21 when he joined the Euro Hockey League. That commenced his minor league career which lasted for seven years. As a minor league player, he became part of the Sherbrooke Castors, the Seattle Totems, the Omaha Knights and a few other teams. His National Hockey League career blossomed in 1965 when he became part of the Montreal Canadiens. He spent two seasons with the Canadiens and sources say in his first year as a national league player, his defensive skills became evident which caught the attention of other National Hockey League teams. He appeared in sixteen games for his first team in the league. With this team, he was able to achieve his first and only Stanley Cup Championship. In 1967, Picard was claimed by the St. Louis Blues as part of the team's Expansion Draft picks. He spent more than five seasons with the Blues and became well-loved by the Blues' fans. He had a leg injury while playing for the Blues which eventually affected his performance in the field. His last season in NHL was in 1973 and he went to retirement after that.
