He played for the Mets from 1975 - 1977, Indians in 1978, Cubs from 1978 - 1980, Reds from 1981 - 1982, Expos in 1983, Giants in 1983 and Dodgers in 1984. Over 10 seasons, he played 665 games, hit 34 home runs, drove in 146 runs, and stole 3 bases. Born on November 10, 1951 in San Francisco, CA, Vail stands 6' 1 and weighs 180 lb. He attended Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, CA) high school and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 4th round of the 1971 amateur draft (January Secondary).
