Michael Richter, famously known as Mike Richter is a retired professional player in the National Hockey League who is regarded as one of the most successful goaltenders from U.S. His National Hockey League career can be best remembered by his stint with the New York Rangers with which he won the Stanley Cup title in 1994. Before he had a successful career in NHL, he went to Germantown Academy where he first played hockey and also joined the hockey team of the Northwood School. He was part of the Word Junior Hockey Championships playing for the United States team in the 1985 season. After his high school career, he played in University of Wisconsin for the 1985 season up to 1987. He had his debut in the National Hockey League in 1989 after being drafted in 1985 by the New York Rangers. His rookie season was ended with 12 wins which made a lot of fans admire him at once. Aside from his remarkable NHL career, he also helped the United States team in the World Cup of Hockey title in 1996. He was included in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2008 together with Brian Leetch , his former teammate.
