Michael Pietrus is a National Basketball Association player who hails from Les Abymes, Guedeloupe. He is a 6 ft. 6 in. player who started his professional career in the 1999 with the Pau-Orthez and had his first NBA season with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors drafted him after his celebrated career in France. A small forward who also functions as a shooting guard, he was an 11th selection of the team. He stayed with the Warriors until the 2007-2008 seasons and was claimed by the Orlando Magic at the offseason of the 2008 season. His debut game in the National Basketball Association gave him 20 points and from then on, he became a very important part of the team. He played a significant role in the NBA Playoffs in 2009 which helped the Magic reach their NBA Finals game. Pietrus also appeared for the French National team during the 2005 season and bagged the bronze medal. He was also part of the Pau-Orthez championship in the 2001 and 2003 season. As of the 2010 season, he has appeared in 439 games and has made a point per game average of 8.7. Currently, he is still playing for the Orlando Magic.
