Martin Pattin, known as “Marty”, is a retired professional baseball player who appeared in the league from the 1968 season through the 1980 season. A right-handed batter and thrower, he played for a number of teams in the Major League Baseball which include the California Angels, with which he spent his first rookie season with. Pattin graduated from Eastern Illinois University where he also starred as a baseball varsity athlete. His debut in the Major League Baseball came on May 14, 1968 with the California Angels and after his stint with the team, he joined the Seattle Pilot, which is now known as the Milwaukee Brewers. He played a great season with the Brewers and was included in a number of All-Star teams, the first one in 1971 after posting a record of 14-14. After playing for the Brewers, he signed with the Boston Red Sox after a trade that made his other teammates, Billy Conigliaro and Jim Lonborg, among others, became part of the Red Sox, too. He also became part of the Kansas City Royals with which he spent the 1974 to 1980 seasons. 1980 was Pattin's last season in professional baseball as he went to retirement after that year.
