Born on October 24, 1963 in Aurora, Illinois, Mark Andrew Grant is a retired baseball player who batted and threw with his right hand. He entered the Major League Baseball on April 27, 1984 for the team San Francisco Giants, although he was already signed by this team in 1981. He was picked by the Giants during the first round of the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft. He played with the Giants until 1987 and was then traded to San Diego Padres. He stayed with the team up to 1990. After playing for the Padres, he joined the Atlanta Braves when he was traded in exchange for Derek Lilliquist. According to reviews, he became part of many other teams such as the Seattle Mariners in 1992, and the Houston Astros in 1993. He likewise joined the Colorado Rockies, an expansion team, in exchange for Braulio Castillo. After two months, he was released by the Rockies and became part of the California Angels. Taking a break from baseball, he worked as a radio talk show host in 1994 for the KFMB-AM. At the same time, he was also a broadcaster of San Diego Padres games for the same station.
