Known simply as Marcus Giles, he was drafted to Major League Baseball on April 17, 2001 for the team Atlanta Bravesin round 53 of 1996 Major League Baseball draft. A right-handed batter, he played as second base. According to reviews, he formally began in 2003 and impressed the public that he was selected to join the All-Star Game that year. He finished the said season with 49 doubles, a record breaking number for the Atlanta Braves. In 2004, he suffered a lot of injuries and missed 52 games.
