Marcellus Wiley is a retired American pro football athlete. He was born in Compton, California and took his college education when he attended the Columbia University in New York City. Wiley played football collegiately, playing as tailback, defensive end, and kick returner for the Columbia University Lions and was also an All American first team and All Ivy League pick. He began playing professional football after he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Wiley spent three seasons with the Bills and started his pro career mainly as a situational pass rusher, recording nine sacks through his first three years. During the 2000 seasons, when Bruce Smith left the Bills for the Washington Redskins, Wiley replaced him at defensive end. After that season, Wiley joined the San Diego Chargers and played with the team until 2003 before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2004 for a single season. During his career with the Chargers, Wiley had his career highlight as a Pro Bowl selection in 2001. In 2005, Wiley left the Cowboys and joined the Jacksonville Jaguars until his final NFL season in 2006.
