A retired football coach and now an active author, motivational speaker and sportscaster, Louis Leo “Lou” Holtz was born on January 6, 1937. He was the head football coach from 1969 to 1971 of The College of William and Mary, from 1972 to 1975 with the North Carolina State University, from 1977 to 1983 with University of Arkansas, from 1984 to 1985 with University of Minnesota, from 1986 to 1996 with University of Notre Dame and from 1999 to 2004 with University of South Carolina. Holtz was able to compile a 249-132-7 career record. During the Fiesta Bowl, his 1988 Notre Dame team has a 12-0 victory and was also the consensus national champion. He is also the sole coach of college football who led six different programs to several bowl games and was also the sole coach who guided for various programs to final Top 20 rankings. In the 1976 season, he was also New York Jets' coach. He became a college football analyst when he joined ESPN in 2005. He was inducted to College Football Hall of Fame on the 1st of May 2008.
