He began his baseball career as a high school baseball player in Centennial High School where he showed impressive performances and was later on drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals to play in the Major League Baseball. However, he opted to have his college education and play college baseball at Arizona State University. He was part of the team's appearance in the NCAA Championship game in 1969. After his successful college career, he was again drafted to play in the Major League Baseball in 1971. This time, he was selected by the Washington Senators with which he played as a second baseman. After his stint with the Senators, he played for the Texas Rangers in the minor league. According to reviews, one of his most notable seasons was the 1974 season where he logged a .302 batting average and made 26 stolen bases. He showed his versatility in the said season by playing in the second base, third base and also in the outfield. He also became part of the New York Mets and the Seattle Mariners . After his career in the MLB, he played in the Italian Serie-A1 League and also had appearances in the Senior Professional Baseball Association.
