Laron Profit, born as Bronta Laton Profit in South Carolina is a retired player in the National Basketball Association. He had his high school basketball career at Caesar Rodney High School where he impressed many basketball fans with his effective plays. He went on to have his college career at University of Maryland and continued to harness his basketball skills. He was included in the All-ACC Freshman as an Honorable Mention member of the team and recorded the highest number of steals in the 1997 season. He also had the chance to play in the All-ACC third team in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 season. He was included in the All-American team as an Honorable mention in the 1998 season. He recorded the 16th highest steals in the ACC. After a very successful college career, he was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1999. He was a second-round selection of the said team in the National Basketball Association Draft in the said year. He also became part of the Washington Wizards and has played for the Los Angeles Lakers. In the Lakers, he played with Kwame Brown. Unfortunately, he had to leave the team because of an injury and was replaced by Ronny Turiaf.
