Kellen Boswell Winslow is a retired American football player in the National Football League. He is regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in the football history. He is fro St. Louis, Missouri. Winslow turned pro after he was selected by the San Diego Chargers as the 13th pick overall in the 1st round of the 1979 NFL Draft. As part of the Chargers, he was the leader in receptions in 2 consecutive seasons, the 1st tight end to ever do so. He is the record holder for in receiving yards in a single season. Winslow was credited with one of the greatest single player efforts in the 1982 game against Miami Dolphins known as the Epic in Miami. He caught 541 passes for 6, 741 yards and has 45 touchdowns in his 9- season career. Upon retirement, he served as a football announcer in FSN. At present, he is the athletic director of the Central State University. Among his many accolades are being a part of the Chargers Hall of Fame and being a 5- time Pro Bowl Selection. His son, Kellen II, also plays in the NFL as a tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
