Keith Primeau is a former professional ice hockey player who started his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings. He was drafted by the said team in the National Hockey League Draft of the 1990 season. Before he played in the National Hockey League, he played in the Ontario Hockey League team, the Niagara Falls Thunder. He had his first two professional seasons with the Adirondack Red Wings. In 1995, as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, he joined the Stanley Cup Finals but unfortunately lost the game. He also had an appearance in the World Cup of Hockey in 1996. He was traded to the Hartford Whalers after a successful stint with the Red Wings. He was named as the team captain when the team became the Carolina Hurricanes. He also became part of the Philadelphia Flyers and was able to play in the All-Star Game of the 2004 season. However, after he had an injury in the 2006 season, he retired from playing on September 14, 2006. Among his memorable recognitions are the Yanick Dupre Memorial award which he received in 2000-2001 seasons and his participation in the Toyota Cup in 2002-2003. At present, Primeau works as the general manager's assistant of the Las Vegas Wranglers, a team in the East Coast Hockey League.
