Joseph Forte is a professional basketball player. Prior to pursuing a professional career, Forte went to DeMatha College High School in Maryland. He played in the high school's basketball varsity team under renowned coach Morgan Wooten. During his senior year, he was named as the All Met Basketball Player of the Year by the Washington Post. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for two years. While playing collegiate basketball, he was named the 2000 ACC Rookie of the Year and 2001 ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Forte became eligible to join the 2001 NBA Draft and became the 21st pick. He was selected by the Boston Celtics. He was released by the team in 2003. Forte decided to sign with the Asheville Attitude of the NBA D-League in 2004. He played for the Team Certified in the Entertainers Basketball Classic in the summer of 2005 and became instrumental in the team making to the play offs. Because of his performance with Team Certified, he was invited to play for the Apollon Patras in Greece and then for the Montepaschi Siena in 2007. He led the Italian team to the championships.
