Over 12 seasons, he started 280 games, won 126 games, struck out 1284 batters, and had a 3.80 ERA. Born on March 17, 1965 in Phoenixville, PA, Smiley stands 6' 4 and weighs 180 lb. He attended Graterford (Graterford, PA) high school and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 12th round of the 1983 amateur draft. His debut was on September 1, 1986 and he played his final game on August 30, 1997. Over his career, Smiley made $31,590,000.
