Johns Joseph Hamilton, famously known as “Joey” Hamilton, was born on September 9, 1970 in Statesboro, Georgia. He is a retired professional baseball player who functioned as a pitcher. He finished his high school education and played high school baseball as well in Statesboro High School. In college, he went to Georgia State University and spent three years in the institution. He began playing in the Major Baseball League on May 24, 1994 for the San Diego Padres but was originally drafted by the team in 1991. His rookie season with the Padres was wrapped up with his fifth place in Major League Baseball Rookie of the Year Award. He was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays after the 1998 season and was released by the team in 2001. After his short stint with the Blue Jays, he was signed by the Cincinnati Reds. He also took part in various training camps and played for some minor league teams of the San Diego Padres and the Cincinnati Reds. He signed with the New York Mets in 2005 but was released shortly after. After his nine-season career, he recorded 74-73 win-loss ratio, 894 strikeouts and an earned run average of 4.44.
