American football center of the Oakland Raiders, Jim Otto was born on January 5, 1938 in Wausau, Wisconsin. His real name is James Edwin Otto. He had studied at Wisconsin's Wausau High School where he played football under coach Win Brockmeyer. Otto continued playing the sport when he studied at the University of Miami. He signed with the Oakland Raiders when he did not make it to the National Football League. For fifteen years of playing with the Raiders, he then became a fixture at center for the team. Otto was also an All-Star in 12 out of his 15 seasons and he was then named the starting center on the All-American Football League team.
