Harold Warstler, nicknamed “rabbit,” is a former American professional baseball player. He was born on September 13, 1903 in North Canton, Ohio and graduated from North Canton High School. Warstler played as shortstop and second baseman for a few teams in the National Baseball League; the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Athletics, then Boston Bees and the Chicago Cubs. Warstler stands 5 ft. 7 in. and 150 lbs. He both batted and threw with his right. Warstler started his professional baseball career after he was acquired by the Boston Red Sox of the Major League Baseball in 1930 and making his pro debut that same year on July 24. Warstler played for four seasons with the Red Sox, until on December 1933, Warstler, along with teammate Bob Kline, was traded by the Red Sox to the Philadelphia Athletics in exchange for Max Bishop , Lefty Grove and Rube Walberg. Warstler played for three seasons with the Athletics and was released on 1936 and was then acquired by the Boston Bees where he played for five seasons when Warstler joined the Chicago Cubs in July 24, 1940. Warstler had his final game with the Cubs on September 29, 1940. Harold Warstler passed away at the age of 60 on May 31, 1964 in his hometown in North Canton, Ohio and was buried in North Canton Cemetery. Create your memorabilia collection room now.
