Glenn Healy is a retired professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. Born in Pickering, Ontario, Healy also served as the director of player affairs for the NHLPA (National Hockey League Players' Association). He held the post until his resignation on September 3, 2009. While serving as director of player affairs, Healy was a member of the NHL Competition Committee. Healy attended Western Michigan University where he played for the hockey varsity team for his entire four-year stay and was signed by the Los Angeles Kings straight out of college. Healy was able to play full-time in the NHL during the 1987 season. He signed with the New York Islanders during the 1989 season and was an integral part of the team and helped the Islanders reach the Wales Conference Finals. During the 1993 Expansion Draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks but was claimed by the Tampa Bay Lightning from Anaheim a day after during that year's Expansion Draft II. That very same day, Healy was traded to the New York Rangers and the goaltender helped the Rangers win their 1993 season Stanley Cup win.
