Gerald Henderson is a retired professional basketball player who spent thirteen seasons playing for the National Basketball Association. As a player, he was a point guard and played for the longest time with the Boston Celtics. Henderson was born in Richmond, Virginia and went on to enroll at Virginia Commonwealth. His best year while playing at Virginia was during his junior year when he was able to rake a total of 506 points for the entire season after appearing in total of 25 games. Henderson was able to post a 20.2 average points per game stat for that season. He dropped slightly to 16.1 ppg during his fourth year. After playing for four years in college, Henderson became eligible to join the 1978 NBA Draft and was selected by the San Antonio Spurs. However, he would make his NBA debut for the Boston Celtics in the succeeding season. Henderson was with the Celtics team when it was able to win the NBA Championship title in 1981 and 1984. During the 1981 playoffs, Henderson was able to play in a total of 16 games and played in 23 games during the 1984 playoffs.
