George Gervin, a retired professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association, was born on April 27, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. Nicknamed as “The Iceman”, he also played for the American Basketball Association. According to reviews, Gervin was famous for his powerful scoring talents. He played college basketball in Eastern Michigan University and Long Beach State where he became a lead player. He left college because of altercation and joined the American Basketball Association tryouts where he made an impressive 22 out of 25 three-point attempts. He made his first scoring record in 1978 when he made seven hundredths of a score with as record of 27.22 to 27.15, versus David Thompson. Gervin likewise played for Banco Roma during the 1986-1987 season in Italy and joined the Spanish National Basketball League for the team TDK Manresa. He was included to the NBA's 50 Great Players and was named to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
