Gary Plummer is a retired professional football player who comes from Fremont, California. He played as a linebacker for a few National Football League teams. He spent his college football career as a linebacker with the Ohlone College. After his successful career in the said college, he went to play in University of California. He exhibited his superb playing skills at the said university before going professional in the 1983 season. He started his professional career with the United States Football League team Oakland Invaders. After a few seasons in the said league, he started his National Football League career as part of the San Diego Chargers. He served as the team's starter and has appeared in 119 games with the team. He ended his stint with the Chargers with 792 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He then joined the San Francisco 49ers and had his Super Bowl XXIX appearance. It was his only Super Bowl performance which gave him his Super Bowl ring. He wrapped up his professional career with 4.5 sacks and 1, 029 tackles made. After his successful NFL career, he became a broadcaster for the KNBR where he works as color analyst.
