Frank Gatski was an American football player who became a famous player in the National Football League in 1950 and in the All-America Football Conference from 1946 to 1949. Born on March 18, 1919 in Farmington, West Virginia, Gatski played at Marshall College for three years before playing professionally for NFL. According to reviews, Gatski was a strong and consistent player with great pass blocking abilities. He was a center and linebacker in Auburn University and was described as a durable player who never missed a game or practice. During the 1950s and 1960s season of the National Football League, he played center for Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. In the 1950s, he was part of the All-NFL honor roll. He also became part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a record of eight wins in 11 championships for 12 seasons. Together with him in the Hall of Fame were Joe Namath, O.J. Simpson, Roger Staubach and Pete Rozelle. Cleveland Browns won four AAFC championships when he was part of the team and were in the title game for six years in NFL. His playing career ended when he became scout for Boston Patriots and a West Virginia Industrial School for Boys coach in 1961. He died on November 22, 2005 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
