He played for the Astros from 1977 - 1978, Mariners from 1979 - 1982, White Sox from 1983 - 1987, Royals from 1988 - 1989, Angels in 1991 and Rangers in 1992. Over 15 seasons, he started 363 games, won 134 games, struck out 1723 batters, and had a 4.06 ERA. Born on June 10, 1955 in Pierre, SD, Bannister stands 6' 1 and weighs 190 lb. He attended Kennedy (Burien, WA) high school and was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 1st round (1st pick) of the 1976 amateur draft.
