He played for the Cardinals from 1939 - 1941, Red Sox from 1943 - 1945 and Tigers from 1946 - 1950. Over 11 seasons, he played 835 games, hit 39 home runs, drove in 442 runs, and stole 52 bases. Born on March 18, 1916 in Antioch, CA, Lake stood 5' 7 and weighed 159 lb. He attended Castlemont (Oakland, CA) high school.
