Albert Dwayne Roloson currently plays professional ice hockey for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He is from Canada and went to college at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award and was undrafted after graduation. He signed as a free agent with the Calgary Flames and played for their AHL affiliate, the St. John Flames. He spent quite a time playing in the AHL before he earned a spot with the Minnesota Wild. Roli gave tremendous help to the Wild in their post- season games in the 2002- 2003 season against the Colorado Avalanche and the Vancouver Canucks. It was this time that he joined his 1st All- Star team and won the Roger Croztier Saving Grace Award. He was then traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 2006 and though there were doubts with him, Roli played a key role in the Oilers' berth in the 2006 Stanley Cup. He was also a part of the Team Canada champions against Finland in the 2007 IIHF World Championship. Upon entering free agency in 2009, he signed with the New York Islanders and achieved career highs there as well as broke the record for saves. In a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he played very well though the Islanders lost the match. At present, his NHL stats stand at 167 wins and 198 losses in 462 games played.
