Doug Gilmour Autographs

Retired professional hockey player Doug Gilmour has played in a number of leagues including the Ontario Hockey League and the National Hockey League. Presently, Gilmour is the head coach for the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL. He played for the Cornwall Royals in the same league in 1980. He was instrumental in the Frotenacs' claiming two back-to-back championships. During the 1982 season, Gilmour was named as the recipient of the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy and the MVP. Gilmour was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft but the team was hesitant to sign him because of his relatively small physique. In 1984, the two parties finally reach an agreement and Gilmour became the Blues' defensive specialist. After he was traded to the Calgary Flames in 1988, the team went on to win the Stanley Cup with Gilmour's help, beating out the Montreal Canadiens. Gilmour made the winning goal during the last game. In 1992, Gilmour was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs and was able to score the most points in that season. He scored 127 points, a career-high, and received the Selke Trophy. He was named team captain after Wendel Clark was traded to the Quebec Nordiques in 1994. NHL home and office items are great as presents for any hockey enthusiast.
