Born on June 23, 1949 in Pelican Rapids, MN, Goltz stands 6' 4 and weighs 200 lb. He attended Rothsay (Rothsay, MN) high school and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 5th round of the 1967 amateur draft.
