Christopher Thomas Ray was born on January 12, 1982 in Tampa, Florida (USA). He took his high school years at Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida and to college at The College of William and Mary where he started his baseball team. He is the relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants in the Major League Baseball. Before he was called up in June of 2005, he started his professional career as a baseball player in the minor league system with the Baltimore Orioles in 2003 and 2004. During the season, Ray was optioned to the Orioles double AA-affiliate, Bowie Baysox, where he played for a short period of time. In 2005, the team (Orioles) coaching staff is taking consideration for Chris Ray to be their closer because of his impressive game season. He became the full-time closer for Baltimore Orioles and had a very successful 1st season in 2006. Because of his consecutive success, he stayed as their closer for the regular season in 2007. He had some surgery that made him not to pitch for the Baltimore Orioles, instead had appearances in minor league during his season in 2008. Chris Ray played also in other MLB teams. He was traded to the Texas Rangers where he made 35 appearances, 3.40 ERA in 2009 and San Francisco Giants in June of 2010.
