Charles William Huddy is a retired professional ice hockey player who served as a defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers. Born on June 2, 1959 in Oshawa, Ontario, he shots in the left field and is listed at 6 ft. and 200 lbs. As an Oiler, he managed to be part of five Stanley Cup teams of the franchise in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 and in 1990. According to many reviews, his finest seasons in the National Hockey League came while he was with the Edmonton Oilers. He played for the team from 1980 until the 1991 season and made 368 points in 694 appearances in the regular seasons. He logged 77 points in 138 offseason appearances. Huddy also became part of other NHL teams including the Los Angeles Kings, in which he played along with former Oilers Wayne Gretzky and Marty McSorley. He became instrumental in the Los Angeles Kings games in the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals. Huddy likewise played for the St. Louis Blues. He spent his last few seasons in the league with the Buffalo Sabres. He went into retirement after the 1996-1997 seasons. Huddy worked as an assistant coach for the New York Rangers and as a head coach for the Huntington Blizzard, an East Coast Hockey League team. At present, Huddy works as an assistant coach for the Dallas Stars.
