Brandon Dawayne Roy currently plays professional basketball for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association. He spent his collegiate basketball career playing for the University of Washington. During college, Roy was the leader of the UW Huskies which made it to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship two times in a row. He was then selected as the 6th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves but was immediately traded off to the Trail Blazers. He first appeared in a game against the Seattle SuperSonics where he was injured forcing him to stay out of 20 games early in the season. He came back with a vengeance in a game against the Toronto Raptors. He was selected for the NBA All- Star Weekend Rookie Challenge and was named Rookie of the Year. In the 2007- 2008 season, he appeared in his 2nd All- Star Weekend. He underwent a surgery in 2009 but was able to help the Blazers against the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets , Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, and the New York Knicks. In 2010, he made it again to the All- Stars and was able to play against the Milwaukee Bucks. He sustained an injury in the game against the Bucks but was able to recover in time for the playoffs. To date, Roy has played in 274 regular season games averaging 20.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
