Bob Veale is a former American professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball where he pitched for a few teams in the league; the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Boston Red Sox . Veale was born in Birmingham, Alabama. Veale took his college education when he attended the Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. Veale was listed at 6 ft. 6 in. and 212 lbs. He pitched left handed and batted with both of his hands. Veale started his professional baseball career in the Major League Baseball after he was signed as amateur free agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1958. Veale made his professional debut with the Pirates on April 16, 1962. Veale's career highlights all came from his playing seasons with the Pirates; he was twice selected in All Star Games in 1965 and 1966, and in 1971, Veale joined the Pirates winning the World Series Championship against the Baltimore Orioles which they battled for seven games. After playing for ten seasons with the Pirates, Veale was acquired by the Boston Red Sox on September 2, 1972. Veale's final game with the Red Sox was on September 8, 1974.
