Currently a radio host for ESPN Radio, Bob Golic is retired professional football player. Golic first appeared in the NFL in 1979 and retired in 1992. He attended St. Joseph's High School and then Notre Dame. While playing for the Fighting Irish, Golic was named into the All-American first-team in 1977-1978. He was also a member of the 1977 NCAA National Champion for football. Golic considered himself eligible for the 1979 NFL Draft and was selected by the New England Patriots during the second round of the draft. He was the 52nd overall pick. As a defensive tackle, Golic was named into three Pro Bowls all while playing for the Cleveland Browns—in 1985, 1986 and 1987. He was also part of two All-Pros—in 1985 and 1986. After playing for the New England Patriots for a total of three seasons, Golic signed with the Cleveland Browns in 1982. He continued to play for the Browns until 1988. The most productive years of his career were spent with the Browns. In 1989, Golic signed with the Los Angeles Raiders and played for the team until his retirement in 1992.
