Bill Wennington is a retired Canadian professional basketball player and is currently serving as radio color commentator for the Bulls. He was born in Montreal, Canada and graduated from Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School in Brookville, New York. He then took his college education at St. John's University in New York City, New York where he also played college basketball at the said university and was able to play on one NCAA Final Four team. Wennington played as center for a few teams in the National Basketball Association; the Dallas Mavericks , Sacramento Kings and the Chicago Bulls. Wennington stands 7 ft. and weighs 245 lbs. He began his professional basketball career after he was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks during the 1985 NBA draft where he was a first round and sixteenth overall pick of the team. Wennington played his first several seasons with the Mavericks before joining the Sacramento Kings in 1990 and played for two seasons. After his release from the Kings, Wennington spent a few notable years playing for Virtus of the Italian league and became also a member of two Canadian Olympic Basketball Teams in 1984 and 1992 before joining the Chicago Bulls in 1994 where he won three NBA championships with the team.
