One of the best defense players of all time, Ben Camey Wallace is nicknamed the “Big Ben” and is currently playing for the Detroit Pistons . He shares the record of winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times to Dikembe Mutombo. Though he left the Pistons for a few years, Wallace was actually part of the team that won the NBA championships in 2004. Wallace showed his defensive prowess even when he was still in college. He led the Virginia Union Panthers to the Division II Final f. Aside from basketball he also was a letterman to football, baseball, and track. He won All- State awards on all his sports save track. He started his NBA career by being an undrafted free agent rookie with the Washington Bullets. He was then traded to Orlando Magic and subsequently to the Detroit Pistons. When he got to Detroit, Wallace bagged the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award 4 times and has been a part of 6 All Defensive teams. The same year that the Pistons won the championships, Wallace and Indiana Pacers' Ron Artest were involved in the Pacers- Pistons brawl and Wallace was suspended for 6games. He was traded off to the Chicago Bulls where he did not perform quite as remarkably as with the Pistons. After the Bulls, Wallace joined the Cleveland Cavaliers . In a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, he set a regular Cavalier season high for points made and for rebounds against the Charlotte Bobcats. In 2009, he was traded off to the Phoenix Suns and finally on August 2009, he returned to the Detroit Pistons.
