Arnie Weinmeister is a former Canadian professional football player. He was born in Rhein, Saskatchewan, Canada and took his college education at the University of Washington. Weinmeister played as defensive tackle for the New York Yankees of the All American Football Conference and the New York Giants of the National Football League. Weinmeister was listed at 6 ft. 4 in. and 235 lbs. He started his professional football career after he was drafted by the then Boston Yankees during the 1945 NFL Draft where he was the seventeenth round pick of the team. He was however, unable to make a debut with Boston, and instead, joined the New York Yankees of the All American Football Conference playing as defensive tackle and making his debut in 1948. Weinmaster played for the Yankees until 1949, before joining the New York Giants in 1950 where he served as the team captain during his final season. Weinmeister's major career highlight was being a four time Pro Bowl selection and a six time All-Pro selection. Weinmeister had his last game in the National Football League during the 1953 seasons with the New York Giants. After his six season career, Weinmeister made a few stint in the Canadian Football Leagues playing for the BC Lions for two seasons in 1954 and 1955. After completely retiring in 1955, Weinmeister was inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1984.
