Andy Hawkins Autographs

Andy Hawkins is a retired professional baseball player. He was a starting pitcher for the San Diego Padres and then for the New York Yankees and, for a short period, for the Oakland Athletics. Hawkins is presently in the coaching staff of the Texas Rangers and was employed by the Oklahoma RedHawks as their pitching coach. Hawkins signed with the San Diego Padres after he was drafted by the team during the 1978 amateur draft. He signed with the Yankees after he became a free agent in 1988 and then with the Oakland Athletics after being released in 1991. Hawkins is most famous for pitching in the Padres' first World Series game victory. This was during the second game of the 1984 World Series against the Detroit Tigers. The Padres would later lose to Detroit after five games. The succeeding game would be Hawkins' best season as a player. He was able to pitch with an ERA of 3.15 and finished the season with an 18-8 win-loss record. Hawkins is also credited for pitching a no-hitter for the Yankees during the 1990 season against the Chicago White Sox. However, the Yankees still lost that game after failing to score and a number of errors that allowed the White Sox to score. Get original MLB apparel direct from SignedAutographed.com.
