Andre Robertson was a professional baseball player who played as shortstop and second baseman in the Major League baseball. Robertson is from Orange County, Texas. Robertson went to University of Texas situated in Austin for his college schooling. Before Robertson could make it to the major leagues, he was drafted in 1976 by the Texas Ranger, however, he was not able to sign a deal with the said team. Robertson truly began his career as a professional baseball player when in the 1979 amateur draft when he was picked in the 4th round by the Toronto Blue Jays, where he had a few stints in the minor leagues, having listed at 5 ft. 10 in. and 155 lbs., batted and threw with his right. After his short stay with the Blue Jays, Robertson was then purchased by the New York Yankees on December 1979. And two years after, on September 3, 1981, Robertson made his professional debut in the major leagues. Robertson was reportedly involved in a car accident in 1983 that purportedly broke his cervical spine affecting his playing ability. Robertson played for five seasons with the Yankees before he, and fellow teammate Ken Griffey , were dealt to Paul Zubella and Claudelle Washington of the Atlanta Braves in June 1986.
